□Yonghe Temple
In Kangxi's 33rd year of reign (1694) he established this location as a prince's palace for his four sons. in YongZhen's 3rd year of reign (1735) he converted the prince's palace into the Yonghe Temple. In Yongzhen's 13th year of reign he passed away and his remains were stored here. Because Emperor Qianlong was born at this site, making it the home of two emperor's Yonghe Temple has been referred to as the "Idyllic Dragon's Lair." As such the tiles of the walls are both red and yellow, in the same style of the Forbidden Palace. Yonghe Temple was the highest seat for Buddhism in all of China, during the later Qing Dynasty.
□Baiyun Guan Temple
Baiyun Guan Temple was established during the Tang Dynasty by Tang XuanZong as a place to pay respects to his ancestors. Then it was called TienChang Guan Temple. Sejong's reign during the Jin had a large impact and the name was changed from TienChang Guan Temple to TaiJi Temple. Baiyun Guan Temple is the location of the Three Treasures, which include the Ming Dynasty's "Orthodoxed Taoist Canon," Meng Fu's (Zhao era) Calligraphy in the "Classic Virtue of the Tao" and "Stone Carvings of the Yin Symbols" as well as other beautiful and important carvings, statues and atifacts.
□Jietai Temple
Jietai Temple is located in Beijing's Mentougou district on Ma'an Mountain. Built in the 5th year of Emperor Tang Wude's reign, Jietai Temple was originally named Huiju Temple. The name was first changed to Wan Shouchan Temple during the Ming Dynasty under Yingzong's reign. It is now called Jietai Temple and is home to the largest Buddhist ordination platform in all of China. It also houses Northern China's largest collection of relics from the Liao Dynasty. What makes this temple so special is the preservation of its pagodas, Buddhist Stone pillars, the ordination platform as well as other rare Liao Dynasty artifacts and treasures.
