The Full Moon Party is a tradition that began in the mid 1980』s when a group of tourists arranged a get together with their friends to enjoy the beautiful spectacle. Year on year the tradition and attendance grew and now an estimated 10,000 to 30,000 people join in the fun every full moon.
Dusk is when the party really gets started, with revellers filling the 1km long beach, scantily clad in bikinis, full moon vests and fluorescent body paint. Haad Rin beach, also known as Sunrise Beach, has something for everyone, lined with open air clubs & bars playing every type of music, alcohol bucket vendors, food stalls and more. The party continues through the night til dawn where you will witness the spectacular sight that is the beach』s namesake.
There』s so much to see and do as the locals in Koh Phangan entertain with juggling acts, fire eaters and the permanent fixture that is the 30ft 「Full Moon Party Haad Rin Koh Phangan」 sign that is set alight every party. You will also find plenty to eat and drink as bars serve BBQ』s, amazing street (or beach!) food and keep you refreshed with party cocktails, buckets and everything besides.
